Positive Youth Development

Enfield Youth Services offers positive youth development programs on site, as well as in the schools & community. A menu of programs are offered as workshop series, or enrichment programs:

SLAM! Poetry
  • Slam poetry is a performance-based activity that allows anyone to get creative. Slam topics range anywhere from very silly to really serious.

Leap into Learning Fiesta
  • Parents and their children in grades K-2 are invited to leap into learning through reading, math activities, and games
  • Thursday’s, July 12th - August 18th. 1:15-2:15pm

Troupe Soup Camp
  • The week will include theater games, juggling, creative movement, story-theater, shadow puppetry and working toward a final performance to be given at a local early child development center.

Background of Facilitator:

Karen Ravenelle-Bloom, M.Ed., CPS, has worked in the Windham community for the past 25 years as Prevention Coordinator at Windham Youth Services and prior to that, at the Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater in Middletown, CT. She developed Troupe Soup workshops drawing upon her theater and arts experience with young people. These workshops include team-building, creative expression, movement, and communications skills.
