Every summer, Neighborhood Services has a limited supply of Farmers Market vouchers to distribute to eligible Enfield senior and disabled residents. Each eligible participant will be given a voucher booklet that can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating Connecticut Farmers' Markets.
Farmers' Market vouchers will be available for eligible seniors at the Neighborhood Services office. Neighborhood Services generally also arranges distribution of the vouchers to Enfield's senior housing sites and to the Enfield Senior Center.
Participants must meet certain income guidelines and if they do not participate in any other programs will be asked to verify their income. The state definition of a senior is any person 60 or older, or any person with a permanent disability, living in subsidized senior housing.
