Full depth roadway reconstruction is proposed with some drainage work, some sidewalk replacement and curb replacement involved. The Contractor, King Construction, is the General Contractor who has been awarded the work. The roadways are to be excavated out and new base material installed, on each of the streets. The Contractor will be resetting curbing and replacing damaged curbing. All the driveway aprons will have to be cut and a portion of all front yards will have to be disturbed to accommodate installation of the new road base material. The Town will try to minimize the portion of driveways and front yards disturbed. It is anticipated that the contractor will substantially complete work on all three streets by August 2011. The Town will have a full time inspector on site during the project. The Police are aware of the project and they will determine when Police Officers are required for traffic safety. The Town understands that road reconstruction projects cause inconveniences for the residents. The Town appreciates your patience and apologizes for these inconveniences.
The project is substantially completed. The Town holds a portion of the Contractor's monies for one year. The Town will reinspect the entire project in the Spring and have the Contractor address any problem areas before he recieves full contract payment.
