State Project No. 48-186 – Post Office / Town Farm Road Reconstruction
The project will reconstruct Post Office Road from approximately Raffia Road Intersection easterly to the intersection of Town Farm and Abbe Road, a distance of 1.3 miles. Post Office Road changes to Town Farm Road at the Scantic River Bridge crossing. This project includes full depth reconstruction to uniform width of 30 feet with improvements to the horizontal and vertical alignments. In addition, a new drainage system will be installed within the project limits. On the north side of the roadway, a bike/pedestrian walkway is being proposed along with improvements to the bridge.
Spazzarini Construction is the General Contractor.
The road will be open to traffic at all times, with Town Police Officers to perform traffic control during construction activities.
The Contrator has finished the road work for the Winter. There may be some work on the bridge during the Winter months. The remainder of the Town Farm Road work into the Abbe Road intersection is scheduled to completed in the Spring of 2012.
