State Project No. 48-191 – Raffia Road Improvements
The project will reconstruct Raffia Road from approximately South Road Intersection south to the intersection of Post Road, approximately a distance of 1 mile. This project includes sections of full depth road reconstruction and sections of milling and paving with improvements to the horizontal and vertical alignments. In addition, some drainage and sidewalk improvements will be made within the project limits. The road will be open to traffic at all times, with Town Police Officers to perform traffic control during construction activities.
Bids were opened for the construction contract on July 6, 2010. With State approval, the Town has awarded of the contract to Morais Concrete. The proper bonds and insurance have been submitted by the Contractor and the contract has been signed.
The project is substantially complete. Currently, some sections of substandard sidewalks are being replaced.
