The Town has contracted with GEG Construction to perform sidewalk replacement under the Capital Improvements budget funds allocated by Town Council. GEG has started work on sections of sidewalks on Heron Road. The replacement work is slated to continue with walks on Brett Lane and Rogers Lane. There is a full time Inspector on the site from the Town's Consultant VHB.
The existing concrete sidewalks will be replaced in place, with possible minor grade adjustments to improve drainage, with new concrete walks. In areas where the concrete walks run through the driveway aprons, that concrete will be removed in the driveway aprons and replaced with bituminous pavement to blend in with the existing bituminous driveways.
It is anticipated that all the sidewalk replacement stated herein will be completed before School starts in the Fall of 2011.
Police traffic protection will only be present in situations deemed necessary by the Traffic Safety Officer.
The Contractor is substantially complete with sidewalk work on Heron Road. GEG has placed soil along the disturbed sidewalk sections and will return in the correct grass planting season to seed and fertilize all the disturbed areas.
GEG has substantially completed with sidewalk work on all three streets. The Contractor will be doing soil and clean-up work.
