MINUTES OF APRIL 14, 2010 MEETING

Marlene Hoginski called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

PRESENT:                                         Marlene Hoginski, Shirley Carpenter, Kay Tallarita, Barbara  O’Hara,

Michael Mennella, , and Pamela Brown, Director of Social Services.

ABSENT:                                           Hebert Foy, Marguerite DuPrey, Judy Partridge, Denise McGill, Alice Egan, and Town Council Liaisons,

                                                            William Edgar and Clemence Dumont

SECRETARY’S REPORT:                Accepted as written.   Motion to accept by Kay Tallarita and seconded by Mike Mennella..

TREASURER’S REPORT:                Balance as of April 14, 2010   $4,520

                                                             Motion to accept by Kay Tallarita and seconded by Mike Mennella.

SUSAN LATHER NEWS:                   Not Present and no presentation.

CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT:           None

VICE-CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT: None

OLD BUSINESS:                                               A. Alzheimer’s .                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

                                                               1.  Site will be Senior Center starting in June.

                                                               2.  Lunch allotment $7.50 per person for 3 sessions                                                              

                                                               3.  Maximum 25 people per session

                                                                    Motion to accept by Kay Tallarita and seconded by Barbara O’Hara..

B.  Date of picnic for Grandparents group is June 7, 2010 at the fire station on Weymouth Road. 

     A Bounce house will be provided.

Pamela Brown:   Present and assisted Committee with program plans for the year 2010-2011. 

Discussion followed and it was tabled until 5/12/2010 meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m. 

The next meeting for the Commission on Aging will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 299 Elm Street, Enfield , CT.
