MINUTES OF MAY 12, 2010 MEETING

Marlene Hoginski called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

PRESENT:
Marlene Hoginski, Shirley Carpenter, Kay Tallarita, Barbara O’Hara, Michael Mennella, Hebert Foy, Judy Partridge, Denise McGill, and Pamela Brown, Director of Social Services, and Susan Lather, Director of Senior Center.

ABSENT:
Marguerite DuPrey, Alice Egan, and Town Council Liaisons, William Edgar and Clemence Dumont

SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Accepted as written with revision of April Report. Notes which should have read $750.00 lunch allotment for 3 sessions. Motion to accept by Barbara O’Hara and seconded by Kay Tallarita.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Balance as of May 12, 2010 $4,296.69
Motion to accept by Barbara O’Hara and seconded by Michael Mennella.

SUSAN LATHER NEWS:
General discussion of budget adjustments in the Senior Center programs.

CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT:
None

VICE-CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT:
None

OLD BUSINESS:
I. Grandparents Program
    The picnic is set for June 7th at 5:00 P.M. at the Weymouth Road Fire Station. Preparation is complete.

II. Discussion of financial help for rental fee to the Health Fair at the Senior Center in April. This help would cover Dial-A-Ride’s and Adult Day Care’s of fee $300.00 total.
Motion to accept by Mike Mannella and seconded by Judy Partridge.

III. Review of 2010 Directory of Senior Citizen Services.

NEW BUSINESS: (Pam Brown)
Concert on the Green on June 25, 2010 at 6:00 P.M.sponsored by the Social Service. The first performers will be Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem.

Meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.

The next meeting for the Commission on Aging will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 299 Elm Street, Enfield , CT.
