MINUTES OF JUNE 9, 2010

Marlene Hoginski called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

PRESENT:   Marlene Hoginski, Shirley Carpenter, Barbara  O’Hara, Denise McGill, Alice Egan, and Pamela Brown, Director of Social Services.

ABSENT:     Judy Partridge, Hebert Foy, Michael Mennella, Kay Tallarita, Marguerite DuPrey, Susan Lather,  Director of Senior Center, and Town Council Liaisons, William Edgar and Clemence Dumont

SECRETARY’S REPORT:   Accepted as written.    Motion to accept by Denise McGill  and seconded by Alice Egan.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  

Balance as of June 9, 2010.                            $1687.68

After pending expenses the Committee will be returning approximately $600.00.   Motion to accept by Denise McGill and seconded by Alice Egan.

SUSAN LATHER/SENIOR              Not present – No News.

CENTER NEWS:   

CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT:           None

VICE-CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT: None

OLD BUSINESS:                                          

 I.   Grandparents Picnic was a success on June 7, 2010 with 40 people attending.

      Effort is being made to seek new grandparents for the Fall program.

II.  Members of the Commission need to bring ideas to the next meeting for

     2010-2011 programmed projects.

New Business:  

      1.  Grandparents program is running out of supplies. 

           Motion made to allot $200.00 to the program. 

           Motion to accept by Denise McGill and seconded

           by Alice Egan.

      2.   Budget for 2010 – 2011 will be $7500.00

      3.   There will be no meeting August 2010.

Pam Brown Business:                      

No New presentations.

Meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m. 

The next meeting for the Commission on Aging will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 299 Elm Street, Enfield , CT.
