The summer reading program broke another record with 1,017 participants. Events included a hike, scavenger hunt, and a camp out at the library.
Career Series was a big hit and very much needed with thirty to forty participants at every session.
Last quarters purchases of the paperback bookshelf in adults, chair for the reference desk and the movie license renewal have worked out well.
New Business:
Meeting Dates for next year:
January 25, 2010, April 26, 2010, July 26, 2010 and October 25, 2010.
Author Tess Gerritsen came to the library. She writes medical thrillers and gave a great presentation.
The Enfield library has been nominated for the Excellence in Public Library Service Award because of the emergent literacy programs. If selected it would be the first time a library was a two time winner.
PEGPETIA Grant - The library has applied for the Public Education Governmental Programming and Education Technology Investment Account Grant. This would help E-TV get good quality off site filming.
Purchases:
Motion was made and passed to purchase: 9 chairs for Pearl Street computer room, 2 outdoor benches to replace broken ones and 2 smoke snuffers for outside.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30.
Respectfully submitted,
Deborah Fiore
Chairman
