Up-coming events were discussed:

·        Destiny Children’s Choir-Africa group is scheduled to perform at Henry Barnard School (Oct. 23 – 9:30 a.m.) and at Crandall (Oct. 16-9:30 a.m.)  Details being worked out.

·        Wiffenpoofs are scheduled to perform for us on Friday Dec. 4 (7:00 p.m.)  at the Congregational Church on Enfield Street.  Mary Keller will take of the contractual issues.

·        Festival of Trees at the Public Library – Dec. 9 is a yes for us.  There are still contract issues to iron out.  We will pay half the price for the performer at this event.

Our up-coming calendar of events was put in place:

·        Family Day – Sept. 20 – we will run the chalk art contest.  There will be awards in three categories for each group.  Gift certificates in the amounts of $10, $15 and $20 will be awarded.   We need to be at the Town Green at 10 a.m. for set-up.  The contest will run until 3:00 p.m. at which time the judging will be held.

·        Destiny Children’s Choir – Oct. 16 and Oct 23 at Crandall and Barnard Schools.

·        Pumpkin Festival – Oct. 17 – We will chaperone the hayrides and have an entry in the scarecrow contest.  Contributions ($250) to this event will be checked out by Mary.

·        NYC Christmas Show- Nov. 14 – We have 45 tickets for this event and the price is $81 each.

·        Wiffenpoofs – Dec. 4 – This group will perform for us at the Congregational Church on Enfield Street.  We will provide finger foods for a small reception following the event.

·        Carol Sing – Dec. 6 – Enfield Town Green

·        Festival of Trees – Dec. 9 – Enfield Public Library.  We will decorate a tree and provide goodies.  We will also co-sponsor the performer for this event.

New Business

Terri brought in a newspaper article regarding Tony Bennett for our scrapbook.  The trip was a success despite the rainy weather.  Everyone braved the elements and had a grand time!

Terri also had information on a Jackie Onasis impersonator for us to consider.  Perhaps we could do a Mother’s Day Tea (May) and co-sponsor with Somers Cultural group.  Maybe we could consider having it at the Martha Parson’s house here in Enfield.

People have been asking for a trip to Tanglewood next summer to attend a James Taylor concert.  We will consider for next year.

People are also inquiring about our Wine Tasting event.  We will check into this and see if we are going to go ahead with our plans.

The meeting ended at 7:50 with a motion by Barbara Kelly and seconded by Cathy Sperrazza.

Respectfully submitted,

Yvonne Wollenberg
