Minutes of Regular Meeting
November 3, 2009
Enfield Room – 6:30 p.m.
Present
Diane Carlone, Betty McGuire, Mary Keller, Cathy Sperrazza, Terri Jedynak and Yvonne Wollenberg
Acceptance of Minutes
Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted by Cathy Sperrazza and seconded by Betty McGuire.
Bill Lee was unable to attend our meeting due to town elections being held.
Chairperson’s Remarks
Diane said she heard from Amy Witbro letting us know that there will be a diversity program in the Enfield School System sometime in February. We would like to participate in this program if possible.
The performance of Destiny Africa was a huge success. Performances at the Crandall and Bernard Schools were enjoyed by all the school children.
There are still a few tickets available for the Christmas Show in NYC. The day of the trip the bus will leave from Town Hall at 8 a.m. and will leave NYC for Enfield at 5 p.m.
Treasurer Report
Terri Jedynak reported that our account now has $22,147.65.
Staff Liaison’s Remarks
Mary mentioned that the contract for the Wiffenpoofs is O.K. for December 4 performance. The Carol Sing at the Town Green on December 6 is all set. Festival of Trees at the Enfield Public Library on December 9 is set to go.
Mary heard from Bill Lee giving us the go ahead with plans for a wine tasting and possible tea party. She said the new council will clarify the charge of the ECAC at a future date.
Old Business
December 9 – Festival of Trees – we should be at the library at 6:30 p.m. with goodies. We will decorate a tree for this event.
December 4 – Wiffenpoofs – we should be at the Congregational Church at 6:30 to prepare for the reception following the performance. Tickets are $7 beforehand and $10 at the door the night of the performance.
NewBusiness
People are asking for another trip to the Culinary Institute in New York next Fall (2010). Diane will look into this for us.
People are asking if we will be getting tickets to see “The Lion King” at the Bushnell. Diane will also look into this for us.
Betty will look into getting students from Enfield who are attending Hart School of Music for a performance at some future date.
Up-coming events –
January – Wine & Beer Tasting on January 22 or January 29 in Suffield. Terri will make arrangements. Yvonne will contact guitarists for music on that evening.
February – School diversity program
June – James Taylor at Tanglewood. Yvonne will look into this event.
Our next meeting will be our Christmas gathering for ECAC.
The meeting ended at 7:45p.m. with a motion by Terri Jedynak and seconded by Cathy Sperrazza.
