ENFIELD CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION

Minutes of Regular Meeting

May 4, 2010

Enfield Room– 6:30 p.m.

Present

Hal Grout, Mary Keller, Yvonne Wollenberg , Barbara Kelly and Terri Jedynak

Acceptance of Minutes

Acceptance of minutes was made by Terri Jedynak and seconded by Barbara Kelly

Chairperson’s Remarks

Barbara Kelly sat in for Chairperson.  She commented that our trip to Newport for Tea, sightseeing and shopping was most enjoyable.  A good time was had by all.  She also mentioned that our trip to NYC for the Tut Exhibit will be on August 28.

Treasurer’s Report 

Terri reported that our account has $16,366.05 remaining with all bills paid to date.

Staff Liaison Report

Mary Keller mentioned that the Recreation Dept. will be sponsoring a trip to Saratoga Springs this summer.  All trips are listed on-line and registrations start May 28.

Old Business

Our Royal Tea was very successful.

James Taylor concert is scheduled for July 5 and tickets are $40 per person.

King Tut Exhibit in NYC is August 28.  Price for tickets will be determined at our next meeting.

Family Day is September 19 on the Town Green.

Pumpkin Festival has not set a date as yet.

Culinary Institute trip is October 6.  Additional tour will be determined.

December we have Festival of Trees (Library), Carol Sing and Choir Concert.

New Business

We were informed that monies have been proposed for ECAC in the up-coming budget.  We should know the outcome by May 19.

Enfield’s 4th of July weekend – Mary Keller will confirm whether we can or cannot contribute to this event.

Barbara Kelly will look further into the Dan Kane Singers.

The bus for the James Taylor Concert on Monday, July 5, will leave from behind Town Hall at 2:30 p.m and leave Tanglewood for the return trip approximately 10 p.m. arriving back in Enfield 11:30 p.m.  All ticket money should be turned in at our next meeting.

Mary will look into using printed forms for sign-ups for our various events.

Suggested trips for next year were proposed – Newport Flower Show, Ellis Island, Saratogo Springs  Horse Racing, Bobby Vinton dinner show.

This was Hal Grout’s last meeting with ECAC.  He has been an active and contributing  member of the commission for several years and his input will be missed.

The meeting ended at 7:30 p.m. with a motion by Hal Grout and seconded by Terri Jedynak.
