Financial Report

Diane Tapp discussed the Landscape design for the Town Hall Gazebo will cost the committee approximately $1200 for their portion ($2400 for the entire design). The estimate included plants to be close together and trellises for vines and ongoing maintenance savings.

Chairman Cross noticed there are two items (one for $46.38 and one for $265.20) that came out of the Beautification budget instead of clean sweep. Ms. Frenette made a motion to keep the items in the budges as they were, leaving $2600 left in the Beautification budget. All were in favor.

Chairman Cross made a note that the flag from Scitico has not been billed yet and needs to come out of the budget before the end of the fiscal year.

FLAG PROGRAM

Ms. Frenette found out the flags in Hartford along the bridge are sponsored by private companies by a private organization. She suggested getting the companies to sponsor the flags along the Suffield bridge. The committee would have to get permission from the state first and an estimate for how much manpower and the flags would cost to purchase and maintain before they could ask for sponsorship from companies.

ADOPT-A-SPOT
Ms. Tapp received permission to do an Adopt-A-Spot for her business in front of the Post Office on Route 5 in Enfield. Ms. Tapp questioned what the cost is to have an Adopt-A-Spot. Chairman Reidy stated the sign is free if you are a non-profit organization and there is a $120 fee for the sign if you are a company. Mr. Hartley orders the signs and puts them up himself.

GARDEN CLUB

Ms Bozutto recommended putting in sod near the gazebo area at the Town Hall to make the whole area look better since the most of the grass has been worn down. Sod would withstand the crowds walking over in during events such as the 4th of July festival.
