ENFIELD ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

                                                       March 10, 2009

Present: Tim Jensen, Marian Dippel, Nancy Geaglone, Eddie Lapponese, Scott Marek, Carl Neuschaefer Fran Slattery, Tony Secondo, Paul DaSilva, Bob Keller, Kris Couture, Mary Keller (Liaiason)

Tim, the vice-chairman, called the meeting to order just after 7:00 p.m.  Our checkbook balance is $4,868.20.  Tim said we received a thank you note from the family of Leo Arnone for flowers sent on his recent passing.

Committees:

Nominations – The committee is currently compiling a list of biographies that will be given to the standing committee at our Apr. 14th meeting and then the actual voting to be done at the May 12th meeting.

Web site – Carl is currently working on updating our web site on our upcoming golf tournament and our other events.

Golf – A goodly amount of brochures have already gone out for our May 2nd tournament. We now have all the addresses of the individuals who have participated in the event on a disc so they, too, will be receiving their information shortly.  Scott also said any raffle prizes the committee can get will be appreciated.

Banquet – Just a reminder that the induction banquet is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19th at the Crowne Plaza.

Scholarship – Applications are at the schools.  Tim did say that we received a check for $75 from Sandra Fitzgerald specifically for the Amy Romano scholarship in memory of Amy’s dad, Tony.

By-Laws – Bob told us that he went to the library to do some research on trust funds. The librarian ran off some copies that had to do with trust funds (Sec. 501). Unfortunately there are a multitude of pages that then refer to a multitude of additional pages.  Bob said it appears to be much to complicated and we will probably need a lawyer’s advice and also an accountant too, when we decide to go ahead with it.

Field hockey tournament – Marian reported that a web site is being set up and will be on line soon concerning the tournament.  Everything seems to be going well.  It looks like 15 teams will be participating.  Cost will be $250 per team and is scheduled for June 7th at Fermi High. She will have more information for us at the next meeting.

Finally Mary said that although Carl does our web site updates and thought he would be putting our monthly meeting minutes on the town web site, Mary found out that a town employee needs to input it, so Mary will have to do it.

Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.

Next meeting is Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center
