ENFIELD ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

                                                      May 11, 2010

Present: Mike Cotnoir, Kris Couture, Fran Slattery, Mary Keller (Liaison), Tim Jensen, Bob Keller, Howie Bromage, Jerry Wingen, Tony Secondo, Scott Marek, Paul DaSilva

Mike called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.  He said he had not as yet received the bank statement.  At that Mike and his committee took our ballots and immediately left to determine who the new inductees would be for 2010.  When they returned and revealed the winners to us, various members volunteered to call the recipients.  Once the inductees agree to join us, the winners will be announced in the next meeting minutes.

Committees:

Golf – Tim reported that we had an excellent turnout, 138 played this year.  Final figures will be forthcoming at our next meeting.  It was also mentioned that Jerry Wingen will be retiring from our committee at the end of this year.  Thank you for a job well done.  Your expertise and knowledge will be sorely missed.

Banquet – Kris said she spoke to Lorraine at Crowne Plaza two weeks ago looking for the contract and menu to be sent to us, but nothing has been received.  Mike said he would contact them.  Also, we did discuss if we should increase the price of our ticket.  We decided to wait until the next meeting and after Mike talks to Crowne Plaza before making any final decisions.

Scholarships – Fermi High will be having their scholarship night on Monday, June 7^th and Enfield High on Monday, June 14^th.  At this writing Howie Bromage volunteered to present the Amy Romano scholarship and the other two presenters will be announced at the next meeting along with the scholarship winners.

Miscellaneous – Jerry made an excellent suggestion to the committee.  He said that when Mike writes the letter to the new inductees to include the following: that the new inductees give us two people who they either played with or against that they think would make a prospective inductee into our hall of fame.  Also, that they would include the sport or sports that the prospective inductee was involved with.  Everyone thought that this would be a great idea and would probably add many more people to our list of potential inductees.

Next meeting is Tuesday, June 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center.
