MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
June 10, 2009
CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the Enfield Prison/Town Liaison Committee was held in the Thompsonville Conference Room at the Enfield Town Hall on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Chairman Nowak called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present from the Town of Enfield were: Chairman Tophie Nowak, Kenneth Edgar, Carmella Brennan, Gretchen Pfeifer-Hall, Captain Gary Collins and Councilman Cynthia Mangini.
Present from the Department of Corrections were: Deputy Warden Monica Rinaldi, Warden Esther Torres and Warden Jose A. Feliciano, Jr.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes from the December 10, 2008 meeting were passed unanimously.

Report of Chairman
On May 20, 2009 there was an open house at Willard Cylbuski. It was attended by committee members from Enfield and Somers.
Update of Notification System
No Report at this time.
Review of Significant Incidents or Policy Changes
Willard/Cybulski – Quiet. Vocational program involved with gardening and herbal gardening.
Also see attached.
Carl Robinson – The vegetable garden’s produce is used in the inmates’ meals.
Enfield – The vegetable garden’s produce is used in the inmates’ meals.
NEW BUSINESS
Warden Bruce Cuscovitch and District Administrator Wayne Choinski will be retiring on July 1, 2009. Commissioner Lantz will also be retiring in the near future.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING
Chairman Nowak stated the next meeting is scheduled for June 10, 2009, 7pm at the Enfield Town Hall, Enfield Conference Room.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Nowak made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded. The vote was unanimous, and the meeting stood adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
Representative Jarmoc arrived at 7:28 p.m. The following was discussed.
New soccer fields may be built on prison grounds. A study is being done on two locations at this time. There may be some grant money available.
The House of Representatives approved a safety bill for corrections officers. See attached news article.
