Call to Order:
Appoint a Chairperson? Group decided to table for now, more members would be expected at the next meeting.

Approval of Meeting Minutes – None, 1st meeting

Documentation in the package for review from Roger.
Discussions
· Review of original Power Point presentation; revisions to update for new presentation to Town Council
Not complete at this time due to discussion of Goals and new approach.
Brainstorming Session notes will be used at next meeting.
Much of the information that we want to share is already documented but needs an almost 10 year update.
Check with Jose Giner for CT Dept of Ag. – Prime Agricultural Soils Map – Natalie will check.
Some general discussion of:
Farmland vs. Agriculture vs. Open Space.
What is the cost benefit analysis of these items?
Development at what cost vs. quality. Quality could improve in Enfield.
Based on the “Boards and Committees Towns of Enfield” document. What has been accomplished in relation to these Goals?
What can we ask for that is attainable for the best interest of Enfield?
Green policy what can we recommend.
Discuss direction but want input from rest of commission who said they are interested.
· Recommendations of further Farmland Preservation issues for discussion by the full commission
No recommendations for the full commission at this time. August meeting should formalize these ideas.
An email address of "ConservationCom@enfield.org" has been setup with Jkneiss as a member of the distribution list. Individuals can send an email to ConservationCom@enfield.org for the survey and Joanne can pass them to Mike and others as needed.
