AGENDA

1.                  Call to order – Chairman Tatoian called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

2.                  Roll call – Present were Chairman Richard Tatoian, Russell Meyer, Nancy Smyth, Roman Polaski, Sonja Dean, Alternate, Lillian Troiano, Alternate, and Raymond Gwozdz, Voting Alternate.

READING OF THE LEGAL NOTICE

HDC #337:  Felician Sisters, 1315 Enfield Street (1297 – site), conversion of high school / residence hall to apartments with exterior modifications. EHDO Section 8

This public hearing was closed.  Mr. Polaski made a motion, seconded by Ms. Smyth, to approve the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the conversion of the high school / residence hall to apartments with exterior modifications at 1315 Enfield Street (1297, site).

Said exterior modifications are as detailed by the applicant in the application, product sheets, photographs, and north, west, south & east elevations (the latter 4 from 8 pages of plans titled “Felician Sisters, Proposed Apartments, 1315 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT 06082, F.J. Dahill Co., Inc, Builder / Client Representative”, undated, and as discussed in the public hearing under HDC #337.  An amendment was made to the motion to require the applicant to provide cut sheets of the Marvin windows for the file. 

The motion was approved by a 5 – 0 – 0 vote with Alternate Gwozdz voting.

8.                  Approval of Meeting Minutes – September 26, 2007 – Mr. Meyer made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gwozdz, to approve the Minutes of September 26, 2007.  The motion was approved by a 4 – 0 – 1 vote.  Ms. Smyth abstained.

12.              ELECTION OF OFFICERS

Mr. Meyer nominated Richard Tatoian for Chairman of the Enfield Historic District Commission.  Ms. Troiano seconded the nomination.  Mr. Tatoian was elected Chairman by a unanimous vote.

Chairman Tatoian nominated Russell Meyer for Vice Chairman of the Enfield Historic District Commission.  Ms. Smyth seconded the nomination.  Mr. Meyer was elected Vice Chairman by a unanimous vote.

Chairman Tatoian nominated Nancy Smyth for Clerk of the Enfield Historic District Commission.  Mr. Meyer seconded the nomination.  Ms. Smyth was elected Clerk by a unanimous vote. 

APPROVAL OF 2008 MEETING DATES – Chairman Tatoian made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meyer, to approve the meeting dates for 2008.  The motion was approved by a unanimous vote. 

13.              Adjournment – Ms. Smyth made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gwozdz, to adjourn.  Following a unanimous vote, the Commission adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
