ENFIELD HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION

SPECIAL MEETING

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2006 – 7:00 P.M.

 COUNCIL CHAMBERS – ENFIELD TOWN HALL

820 ENFIELD STREET, ENFIELD, CT 06082

 

AGENDA

 

1.         Call to order – Chairman Richard Tatoian called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m.

 

2.         Roll call – Present were Chairman Richard Tatoian and Commissioners Roman Polaski, Nancy Smyth, Marie Troiano and Raymond Gwozdz.

 

3.         Public Hearings:

 

            READING OF THE LEGAL NOTICE

 

HDC#323:       Anthony and Tina Troiano, 1236 Enfield Street, Install driveway gates, 4 foot picket fence and 6 foot privacy fencing on the property.  EHDO Section 8 – This public hearing was closed.

 

Mr. Polaski made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gwozdz, to approve the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install 4’ picket fencing, 6’ privacy fencing, two pedestrian gates, and two driveway gates on the property as indicated on the site plan and submitted for this application.

 

Such products to be installed and the areas and manner in which they will be installed or used shall be as described and as discussed in the pubic hearing under HDC#323, and as shown on any site plans, in any product sheets or site photographs, and per any samples as displayed during the above mentioned public hearing.

 

The motion was approved by a 5 – 0 – 0 vote.

 

            READING OF THE LEGAL NOTICE

 

HDC#324        Shawn and Marlene Caron, 1380 Enfield Street, install new ‘full view’ storm door on front of house.  EHDO Section 8 – This public hearing was closed.

 

Mr. Gwozdz made a motion, seconded by Mr. Polaski, to approve the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install new full view storm doors on front door, south coffin door and north side entrance of the house at 1380 Enfield Street as shown in the product sheet for this application.

 

Such products to be installed, and the areas and manner in which they will be installed or used, shall be as described and as discussed in the public hearing under HDC#324, and as shown on any site plans, in any product sheets or sight photographs, and per any samples as displayed during the above mentioned public hearing. 

 

The motion was approved by a 5 – 0 – 0 vote.

 

4.                  HDCR – Review files, determinations of need for certificates of appropriateness:

6.         Public Participation

 

7.         Approval of Meeting Minutes – July 12, 2006 and July 26, 2006 – Ms. Troiano made a motion, seconded by Ms. Smyth, to approve the Minutes of July 12, 2006 and the Minutes of July 26, 2006.  The motion was approved by a 5 – 0 – 0 vote.

 

Ms. Smyth made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gwozdz, to add an item to tonight’s agenda -  HDC#318 – Robert and Tracy Artioli, 1204 Enfield Street, modification to approval.  The motion was approved by a 5 – 0 – 0 vote.

 

Mr. Polaski made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gwozdz, to approve the change requested in HDC#318, Robert and Tracy Artioli, 11204 Enfield Street, for a change from the board and batten vertical siding for the carriage house to cedar clapboard painted to match the house.  The motion was approved by a 5 – 0 – 0 vote.

11.       Adjournment – Ms. Smyth made a motion, seconded by Mr. Polaski, to adjourn.  Following a unanimous vote, the Commission adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
