ENFIELD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING

NOVEMBER 13, 2007

A Special Meeting of the Enfield Planning and Zoning Commission was held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in the Enfield Room, Enfield Town Hall, 820 Enfield Street, Enfield, Connecticut. Chairman DiPace called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

PRESENT:    Anthony DiPace, Chairman

                   Jeff Cooper

                   Karen Weseliza

                   Charles Duren

                   Elizabeth Ballard

                   Kathleen Sarno, Alternate

                   Charles Ladd, Alternate (arrived at 6:40 p.m.)

                   Nicles Lefakis, Alternate (arrived at 6:50 p.m.)

Also present:  José Giner, Director of Planning

There was discussion regarding the number of people that would constitute the Housing Subcommittee which would meet and advise the Commission regarding any suggested changes to the over 55 and other elderly housing regulations. Commissioner Sarno, who will be the Chairman of the subcommittee, suggested it be a manageable number – around eight.

The Commission then discussed the 22 candidates that had expressed an interest in serving on the subcommittee.  There was consensus on the following list of names for inclusion on the subcommittee:

Maureen Rochette

Mary Ann Turner

Brian P. Baril

Linda Gowdy

Danielle Ryan-Praus

Lori Longhi

Brian Peruta

Marybeth LeMay

Commissioner Sarno will get together with staff to determine an initial meeting date and letters will be sent to the candidates.

Commissioner Weseliza made a motion to adjourn which was seconded by Commissioner Duren.  By unanimous vote the meeting was adjourned at 7:06.
