What is Interlibrary Loan? Interlibrary Loan, or ILL, is the process of getting library materials from another library. When the Enfield Public Library does not own a particular item, we can order material from within the CONNECT libraries, as well as the reQuest, Statewide Catalog system.
Who can borrow through ILL? ILL users must be Enfield residents or work for the town of Enfield.
What can I request through ILL? Patrons can request books, CDs, audiobooks and non-fiction videos. The Enfield Public Library does not ILL videos of feature films or any DVDs.
How do I request an ILL? Patrons can request an ILL in person through the Reference Desk at the Enfield Public Library or at the Pearl Street Library. Patrons can also request an ILL by phone, call the Reference Desk at 860-763-7511.
How long does ILL take? The typical request is filled within two to four weeks. The library will contact you when the item arrives to be picked up.
How long can I keep an ILL? The loan period for an ILL is three weeks. The item may be renewed once for another three weeks, unless the lending library requests that it be returned.
Can I request more than one ILL at a time? Patrons may request up to four Interlibrary Loans Per Day. |
