Entering Your Search Terms
Type in your search term in the text box below. Let's start with a title search for the book Mister Monday. Make sure to change the dropdown menu if not using words or phrase search. Then click the Search icon or the enter key on the computer.

Search Results
There is only one book in our library with the title of Mister Monday. The record says there is a copy available to be checked out in the Paperback section of the Children's Department. The tabs for A Look Inside and Catalog Record give more information about the book, including a summary and other libraries that own the title.

Let's Try a More Challenging Search
Now let's enter a search term that will bring up more than one result. We'll look for Stephen King in the author category. Remember, when doing a search for an Author type in the last name first.

The search for Stephen King returned 100 items on 5 screens. Click on Details to find out more information about a particular title. If you click on Details for the book on CD Faithful, you will find that all copies are checked out. The next screen will show you how to place a hold on an item. You may also place holds on items that are not checked out, or items that have not arrived in the library, but have been entered in the catalog.

Placing a Hold
Under the picture of the item in the left column click on the words Place Hold. The computer will bring you to a screen that will allow you to place a reserve on the title. You will need your library card and your PIN number, your PIN number is CHANGEME(all one word) unless you have chosen a new pin number.

Entering Your Library Card and PIN
Type in your Library Card # and PIN. Your Library Card number is on the back of your library card. Your PIN number is CHANGEME (no spaces) unless you have changed it to another PIN. Click Place Hold or enter on the computer keyboard to place a hold on the item. Questions? Contact the Enfield Public Library at 860-763-7512.

Below you can see that the item was successfully placed for Dewey Decimal and the library will contact him as soon as the hold is available.
