Operation Fuel 2010 Summer Program's

*PLEASE NOTE THAT OPERATION FUEL WILL BE RUNNING TWO PROGRAMS THIS SUMMER.  THESE PROGRAMS ARE NOT AN ENTITLEMENT AND THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A GRANT.  GUIDELINES FOR THE SUMMER PROGRAM ARE STRICT AND ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE OPERATION FUEL CENTRAL OFFICE*

 

Mission Program - Funded with Operation Fuel Charitable Funds, All energy sources

 

Grant Amount

One time grant up to $300 per household

 

Eligibility Guidelines

Applicants Must:

 

  • Be an EXTREME emergency, documentation must accompany application for:
    • client is suffering from job loss and is collecting un-employment or exhausted un-employment benefits
    • client health is threatened (i.e. needs utility to refrigerate medications or baby formula)
    • client needs utility to keep medical equipment operational
    • client needs air conditioning when there is a medical condition (like asthma) that requires air conditioning or
    • client needs oil to heat water and there is a health risk if there is no hot water.
  • Have income between 0-200% of the federal poverty guidelines (click for income grid)
  • Not have received a grant during the12month period of which the client is applying. In other words, if a client received a grant on June 12, 2010, he/she is not eligible for an Operation Fuel grant until June 12, 2011. Operation fuel staff is available to help check client status if needed.
  • Have made a total of 4 payments within the 12month period of which the client is applying. 3 payments throughout the year and 1 payment during the moratorium. (applies to gas and electric clients only and no minimum payment required)

 TANF Program – Federally Funded. Gas and Electric utilities ONLY

We are pleased to announce that Operation Fuel has received funding to assist TANF eligible families. This program will also begin on August 2nd and end on September 30th.  Program guidelines are not flexible.  

General program guidelines are below:

  1. Grant award $500
  2. Gas and Electric Utilities only (for bills no older than 30 days and for future bills.  Grant can be used as credit toward future bill)
  3. Must have children under age 19 living in household
  4. Household must also meet all eligibility criteria for TANF
  5. Applications are subject to final approval by Operation Fuel staff
  6. Commitment letters will be sent on behalf of client directly from Operation Fuel
