Mission:

The Office of Community Development (OCD) is responsible for administering funds from the State's Small Cities Block Grant program and other related programs. The division utilizes State and Federal funds to help improve the lives and living conditions of the Town's poorest citizens, thereby improving the community for all. The OCD manages several core programs including, housing and commercial rehabilitation, first-time homebuyer program, and various public facility improvements. The office is also responsible for enforcement of the Town's housing code and responding to violations. The OCD provides technical support to several Town boards and committees including, the Revitalization Strategy Committee, Loan Review Committee, and the Fair Rent Commission. The division is also charged with coordination of, and preparing for, community development activities that work to enhance the Town's built environment.
