SUBSTITUTE COOK/MEAL PROVIDER - weekends (4-8 hours)

RATE OF PAY: $13.37/hr

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Graduation from high school or possession of high school equivalency diploma (GED) and two (2) years experience in an institutional meal preparing environment or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays and/or Sundays
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible position required to ensure that nutrition is provided for seniors during weekend and holiday meals. Works independently and is responsible for all aspects of food service.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Congregate Living Assistant Project Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Regular & punctual attendance; formulates and cooks weekend and holiday menus for lunch, cleans up after all meals.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Does related work as required.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Knowledge of and ability to cook; knowledge of various kitchen appliances; ability to deal with seniors; ability to be creative; knowledge of state requirements for food preparation.
