Sealed proposals for the services named above will be received on Architectural and Engineering Services for Exterior Restoration to Pearl Street Library, Enfield, CT 06082.

“The Work” consists of removal of existing gutter system and replacement with historic original Yankee gutter system; repair and/or replacement of the under soffit material and framing, cornice, egg and dart facia and trim; replacement of roof systems at the two bay areas either side of the building; repairs to existing chimney; replacement or restoration of existing windows, doors and frames (excluding main entry), and restoration or replacement of existing main steps leading into the building.  This building is recognized as a Carnegie building; however it is not a registered historic building. Historic restoration and/or replication is to be followed as much as possible within the confines of the budget that has been established. 

Proposals shall include Lump Sum for the total design and administration of the projects.  It is the intention that the design and administration of the Work will begin on or about May 4, 2005 and shall be completed no later than November 30, 2005.

Proposal Requirements may be obtained by pickup at 40 Moody Road, Enfield, CT 06082 during the hours of 9:00am to 4:00pm on or after April 6, 2005; or by written request on company letter head faxed to the office of the Town of Enfield Public Works, Attention: Joanne Larson 860-272-1143.  All written requests must provide a fax number with the company name, complete address and attention persons clearly outlined. No other form of request or distribution will be provided.  

Submit proposal based on the Request for Proposal requirements.  Submit five (5) signed copies of the Proposal sealed and delivered to the office of the Director of Finance, Town Hall, 820 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT 06082, on or before 11:00 am, Wednesday April 27, 2005.  Proposals delivered after that time will not be accepted.  Proposals will be opened publicly at that time and read aloud.  The right is reserved to reject any and all proposals or to waive defects in same if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Enfield.  The name of the project must be clearly marked on the envelope of all sealed proposals.   Proposals may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after the due date for submittal without the written consent of the Owner.

A mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2005, at the Pearl Street Library, 159 Pearl St. Enfield CT.  Proposers are required to attend and participate in or to be considered for the work.

The Owner reserves the right to accept any proposal or reject any or all proposals and to waive requirements in the Request for Proposal which we deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
