In June of 2007, with the success of Officer Moylan and Niko, the Enfield Police Department added another canine to its patrol division with "K-9 Promise," who is a yellow Labrador Retriever. Promise graduated from the 128th Connecticut State Police Narcotics Detection Class in 2007 with her handler, Officer Brian Croteau. Promise is trained in locating 7 different types of illegal substances such as cocaine and its derivatives, methamphetamines, heroin, steroids, etc. Promise has assisted the Enfield Police Department in over 500 arrests in narcotics with vehicle or person detection, as well as during the execution of search warrants in cooperation with the Detective Division. Officer Croteau and Promise have been an essential asset to the Town of Enfield in fighting the war on drugs. To date, Promise is still patrolling the Town of Enfield with Officer Croteau.
