The Traffic Division is currently staffed with three officers and one supervisor. This division has many responsibilities, including the following:
- Investigating all fatal and serious injury motor vehicle crashes
- Implementing and maintaining the towns school crossing guard program
- Analyzing traffic and crash data to identify and resolve problem areas
- Enforcing Connecticut motor vehicle laws at problem locations
- Deploying speed displays and traffic counters to slow, count and measure traffic
- Reviewing traffic related permit requests for traffic safety
- Managing of all traffic safety grants
