Imagine Enfield is a celebration of Enfield. There will be a photo display of works of talented volunteer photographers. They have captured the history, beauty and excitement of the Town of Enfield. Have snacks and beverages as you visit with neighbors and enjoy the photos. This community event on Friday, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., is free and organized by Picture Enfield.
Get your tickets for the Truck Stop Troubadours an old time, foot stompin’ country music concert on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. Dessert and coffee will be served at the break.
A new class on Mindfulness Meditation begins on Wednesday, April 1 for 4 weeks from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The resident fee is $12 and nonresident fee is $16 for the series.
No partner is needed for Salsa Lessons on Tuesday, April 7 and 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This class is provided free through Ballroom Fever and Enfield Cultural Arts Commission. Register for classes in the Senior Center office.
Do you own an IRA or 401K? John Dee, President of Wealth Preservation Group, will present How to Avoid the Top IRA and 401k Legacy Planning Mistakes on Wednesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. Please register by calling the Senior Center.
We had 15 slots for women and 15 slots for men for our first ever Speed Dating Event. As expected, our women’s slots are all filled. If you know of any men who might be interested, encourage them to give it a try. The Enfield Senior Center Speed Dating Event will be held on Thursday, April 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. Dessert and coffee will be served. There is no charge but registration is requested. New software that teaches you how to use the iPad has been installed on the iPads available in the Technology Center. Try it. It is called Sip & Swipe Café. You are invited to pour a cup of coffee or tea and start learning. Volunteers are available to assist on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m., Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m.
If you’re in the mood to laugh, join us for the “I Love Lucy” Live on Stage show at the Waterbury Palace Theater on May 31, 2015. The price is $123 per person. And, if you’re a Red Sox fan you won’t want to miss out on our 3-day trip to Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC, on June 9 – 11, 2015, to view the historic sites of these cities and attend two Red Sox/Orioles games at Camden Yards. The price of this trip is $527 per person/double occupancy. We still have seats available on our West Point Dress Parade trip, to view the famous Cadet Dress Parade conducted with great pomp and circumstance to the cadence of military music, on May 2, 2015, lunch is included at the Hotel Thayer. We will be taking reservations for the Isabella Gardner Museum trip on Friday, April 10, 2015, at 10 am. This day trip, on June 3, 2015, begins in Boston with a fascinating Guided Tour of Trinity Church which dominates Copley Square. Henry Hudson Richardson designed this masterpiece in 1872, and it is still considered to be one of America’s finest. Tour highlights at the Isabella Gardner Museum include: interior tour of murals, mosaics, granite and marble carvings, brilliant stained glass, breathtaking spires, all blending in an aura of serenity and inspiration. There will also be time at the Prudential Center in Copley Square where you can enjoy lunch on your own at the wonderful food court & retail stores. Price for this trip is $81 per person.
