News Release for the Week of April 20, 2015
The weather is beautiful and it is time to get out and enjoy it. Two great outdoor activities started last year and are ready to resume again this season. Pickleball is played at the South Road tennis courts near Mark Twain. The drop-in game will begin Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12. Beginners and more experienced players are invited to meet at the courts weather-permitting. Pickleball is a game that is similar to tennis but the court is smaller and the ball is like a wiffleball. It is the fastest growing sport in the U.S.
Also, the bike group is back! They will meet each time at the Miller Road lot in Southwick MA at 9:15 a.m. All rides are on a smooth, flat bike path. The rides are scheduled for April 20, 22, 28 and May 1, 4, 6, 12, 15, 18, 20, 26 and 29. Call coordinator Melissa Dopp at 860-265-2038 for more information. New riders are always welcome.
AARP Tax Aide has wrapped up another year of tax assistance at the Enfield Senior Center. This is a wonderful, free service that we could not provide without dedicated volunteers. We send a sincere thank-you to these amazing volunteers who came on Mondays and Wednesdays through snow and rain, from February through April, to assist older adults in tax preparation.
We are going to rock and roll again! It’s dance night on Friday, April 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. with Rock Solid Alibi. The dance will start a little later than usual so you have time to grab a quick dinner. Dessert and coffee will be served at the break. Tickets are $7 per person in the Senior Center office.
