News Release for the Week of June 15, 2015

We are thankful for the dedication of our Enfield Police Department every day. It was so nice of these officers to buy, prepare and serve over 700 community older adults last week. We appreciate how much you care.

The Fire and Police Departments are hosting a Safety Fair on Wednesday, July 1. Mark your calendars for this free event. You will get valuable information while experiencing hands-on safety measures. Bring a chair for this outdoor event. It will be postponed if the weather is inclement.

We are offering a new creative arts class on Monday, June 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. Jumping Clay is a non-toxic, air drying clay. In the Introduction to Jumping Clay class you will express your creativity while making adorable magnets with a patient instructor. The class is free but there is a material fee of $12 payable to the instructor. Please register in the Senior Center office.

The Afternoon Ballroom Dance is scheduled for Friday, June 19 at 2 p.m. What a great way to get exercise, enjoy the music and meet friends. Dance and enjoy a snack for $3, payable at the door.

Join us on Monday, June 15 at 4 p.m. for a Scandinavian Splendor Cruise Trip Presentation. A Tours of Distinction representative will present details of the Norwegian Cruise Lines cruise to the Baltic capitals on June 1-11, 2016. On this cruise you’ll experience six incredible cities in nine days. Embark from Copenhagen, Scandinavia’s most cosmopolitan city, and experience the fascinating Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag in Berlin, Peter the Great’s Kadriorg Palace in Tallinn, and the palaces and cathedrals of St. Petersburg. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the culture and history of Helsinki and Stockholm. Cost: $3409 per person/double occupancy/inside stateroom. Shore excursions are optional and are available through Norwegian Cruise Lines.
