News Release for the Week of July 6, 2015
The Enfield Senior Center Goldtones will be in concert at the Senior Center on Sunday, July, 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $5 per person which includes a summer dessert. Enjoy the new selection of songs in the air-conditioned comfort on a hot summer day.
The Fire and Police Departments postponed the Safety Fair from July 1, when inclement weather was expected, to Thursday, July 16 at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center. Walk through the Police Mobile Command Center, see a fire extinguisher demo, try the Fire Department Smoke Trailer and learn about the Enfield Canine Unit. Bring a chair for this outdoor event.
If you have craft projects that you have not finished, now is your chance to complete them. Stop in for UFOs: Unfinished Objects on Thursdays from July 9 to August 13, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the Craft Room. Bring your projects and materials and work along with other creative people. There is no charge for this group.
Join the Enfield Senior Center bike group, the Classic Rollers, this summer. All rides begin at 9:30 a.m. and usually last about 2 hours. The upcoming schedule: Tuesday, July 7 and Friday, July 10, the group will meet at Miller Road in Southwick, MA. Try the Northampton, MA trail on Monday, July 13 and Wednesday, July 15 meeting at Exit 19 off 91N cross Rt. 9. On Tuesday, July 21 and Friday, July 24 meet at Miller Road and Monday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 29 meet at Easthampton. Everyone is welcome!
The Monthly Afternoon Ballroom Dance is on Friday, July 10 at 2 p.m. Enjoy dancing and a snack at the break for only $3 at the door.
The movie “And So It Goes” with Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton will be shown on Thursday, July 30. Chinese food will be served before the movie at 5 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $5 per person. If you would like to come for the movie only, you can pay $2 at the door. The movie begins at 6 p.m.
Join us for a day-trip to Block Island on September 2, 2015. We’ll be sailing from Point Judith, RI for a day of exploring this quaint island. Lunch will be included at the National Hotel along with a guided tour of the island and free time to explore the unique shops. Price is: $126 per person. The sign-up date is Friday, July 10, 10 a.m., in the Senior Center Dining Room. Come early, as we only have 50 seats available.
