On July 30, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law legislation that established Medicare. For 50 years, Medicare has been protecting the health and well-being of millions of older Americans. To commemorate and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Medicare, join U.S. Representative Joe Courtney at the Enfield Senior Center on Friday, July 31 at 12:30 p.m. for cake, coffee and conversation. Facebook is a great way to keep in touch. It may feel a little intimidating at first, but it is a great way to connect with family and friends from near and far. The Enfield Senior Center is fortunate to have a teacher who will share her skills this summer instructing a Beginner Facebook class. You can sign up for the small group class that will meet both Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to noon. Please call to register for these free classes. Class size is limited.
