The Holiday Craft Fair & Pancake Breakfast is just around the corner! Join us for pancakes and holiday shopping on Saturday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is never too early to start your holiday shopping. Take a chance on a one-of-a-kind-quilt and teacup raffle items. We always have delicious homemade baked goods, too.

The Country Jamboree is a lively evening of music from the glory days of country. Songs by artist like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn are featured in Grand Ole Opry style. Tickets are on sale for the Friday, November 13, 6 p.m., performance for $7 per person.

Our first try was a lot of fun, so we are going to have Speed Dating again! If you are single and over 70, this is a nice way to meet other singles. You simply spend a few minutes talking with each person and then move on to the next person. You decide whether you would want to see them again. You submit your Dating Sheet and if they match, you will be given their contact information. There is no cost and the event will be held on Thursday, November 12 at 6 p.m. Even if you do not find a match, it is a fun night of talking and a great dessert. Call the Senior Center or email me at slather@enfield.org to register.

We honor our veterans with a celebration each year. This year we are joining the Enfield Cultural Arts Commission to present a World War II storyteller in our Veterans Tribute. On Thursday, November 12 at 1 p.m., Arnie Pritchard tells the story of his father’s experience through letters he wrote. Dessert will be served after the presentation. Everyone is welcome.

Register for our new program, Ageless Grace, which will be held on Mondays from 2:15 to 3 p.m. beginning November 2 through December 14. The cost is $21 for residents and $28 for nonresidents. It is a new fitness program for the mind and body that anyone can do. The class size is limited and registration is first come, first served.

Men’s Strength Training is a new class that has just been added to the fall schedule. Beginning Wednesday, November 4 until December 23, for 7 classes, from 6 to 6:45 p.m., men will have an opportunity to strengthen all muscle groups in a guided workout. Improve your joint health, balance and muscle tone. The cost of the class is $21 for residents and $28 for nonresidents.

Radiology Associates of Hartford will be providing free walk-in Bone Density Screenings on Tuesday, November 3, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Senior Center. Take advantage of this free service.

Join us as we venture to Foxwoods Resort Casino and Theater to celebrate Veterans Day with the music of the 4TROOPS on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. 4TROOPS is a new, powerful, vocal group comprised of four seasoned singers who are also United States combat veterans who served on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. Cost: $80 per person. Package Includes: Reserved Seating in the Fox Theatre, $10 Slot Play, Free Lunch Buffet, and Gratuity for Driver & Escort. We’re also off to the Goodspeed Opera House on November 18, 2015 to see a classic holiday show “A Wonderful Life”. Prior to the show, lunch is served at the historic Gelston House restaurant, located next door to the Opera House. Cost is $149 per person.
