News Release for the Week of May 9, 2016

The Annual Spring Craft Fair & Basket Raffle is here. We partner, on this event, with the Lions Club who make some delicious pancakes and the Enfield Garden Club with a great plant sale. Shop our handcrafted items and take a chance on a beautiful gift basket or a stunning quilt. There is something for everyone! Join us on Saturday, May 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you are a line dancer, you do not want to miss the Line Dance Jamboree on Thursday, May 19 at 1 p.m. Dance to some familiar tunes and learn some new steps. A grinder is included. Buy your tickets in advance so we have a count. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person.

Jimmy Mazz is back in town with his Las Vegas Legends Show. On Friday, May 20 at 6 p.m. Jimmy will take us on a musical journey through some of his favorite songs by a wide variety of performers. Jimmy has quite a following so you may want to pick up your tickets early. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person and includes dessert and coffee.

On Friday, May 13 and Friday, May 20, Johnson Memorial Medical Center will sponsor a free Stroke Screening from 12:30 to 2:45 p.m. Schedule your 15 minute appointment by calling 860-763-7684.

If you have not been to the Enfield Senior Center, join me for “Welcome to the Enfield Senior Center” on Wednesday, May 11 at 10 a.m. Meet in the Senior Center Library for a tour and a talk about Senior Center services, events, and classes. No registration is necessary.

Meals-on-Wheels is looking for a few more volunteers. If you have some time to help with this important program, stop and pick up an application at the front desk.

• Berkshire’s Hidden Gems, July 8, 2016. Cost: $99 per person.
• Long Island Sound Lighthouse Cruise, July 21, 2016. Cost: $103 per person. Trip sign-up date is May 20, 2016, 10 am.
• Texas Tenors at Foxwoods, August 3, 2016. Cost: $90 per person. Trip sign-up date is June 3, 2016, 10 am.
• Exploring Boston & Whale Watch, August 18, 2016. Cost: $135 per person. Trip sign-up date is June 10, 2016, 10 am.
• Discover Woodstock Vermont/Billings Farm Museum, September 6, 2016. Cost: $139 per person. Trip sign-up date is July 15, 2016, 10 am.
• “CT Rail & Sail”, Essex Steam Train, Becky Thatcher Riverboat, Lyman Orchards, September 23, 2016. Cost: $107 per person. Trip sign-up date is July 22, 2016, 10 am.
