The Truck Stop Troubadours bring their Solid Gold Country Show to the Enfield Senior Center on Friday, June 17 at 6 p.m. This popular four-piece band is bringing special guest Vicky St. Pierre with them for this performance of covers from the golden age of country music. Dessert and coffee will be served. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person. Last time the Truck Stop Troubadours played at the Senior Center, they were a sellout. Get your tickets early.
The Classic Rollers, the Enfield Senior Center bike group, are in full swing. Join them in June on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. The June 1 and 29 ride begins at Turkey Hill, Rte. 20 in E. Granby. On June 8 the ride begins in Easthampton, exit 17E off of 91N. The June 15 ride starts in Northampton, exit 19 off of 91N. The June 22 ride begins at Miller Road in Southwick. Our Morning Toast gets rave reviews! Stop in for a toasted English muffin, wheat or white toast, from 8:30 to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. Top it off with butter, jelly, peanut butter or Nutella. Drop in a donation for the coffee, tea and muffin and enjoy. Our friendly volunteers will make your morning toast to order. What a great snack after walking the trail or while visiting with friends.
Enfield Police Senior Picnic is the signal that summer is on the way. The annual picnic is sponsored by the Enfield Police Union and Police Benevolent Association. Join our wonderful Enfield Police on Friday, June 10 at noon for a free hot dog and hamburger and musical entertainment by Rock Solid Alibi. Bring a chair, your dancing shoes and an appetite. In the event of inclement weather, the event is moved indoors. Free tickets are available in the Senior Center office.
The Enfield Senior Center Goldtones have put together a delightful show to be held on Thursday, June 16 at 6 p.m. Dessert will be served following the performance. Tickets are on sale for the Goldtones Concert for $5 per person.
Jaime Ingaran, who is our Evening Program Coordinator, thought you might like to binge watch Downton Abbey, Season 1, at a slower pace. She will be showing the award-winning British drama every Wednesday, from June 1- July 13 at 5:30 p.m. There is no fee for this event but it would be very helpful if attendees would register in advance.
Health New England is sponsoring a Healthy Cooking Demonstration on Thursday, June 2 at 1 p.m. It is fun to learn about healthy eating while watching the steps in preparation. There will be a tasting too!
Meals-on-Wheels is looking for a few more volunteers. If you have some time to help with this important program, stop and pick up an application at the front desk.
Spend the day in the Berkshires of Massachusetts on Friday, July 8, 2016. Join us as we explore some of the “Berkshire’s Hidden Gems”. Our first stop will be at the Berkshire Botanical Garden. These public gardens are both functional and ornamental and are among the oldest in the United States. A great meal and relaxation will be enjoyed at Michael’s Restaurant. We’ll also tour Chesterwood, which is the country home, studio and gardens of Daniel Chester French who is the foremost sculptor of public monuments. Some of his works include: Minute Man, and Abraham Lincoln for the Lincoln Memorial. Cost: $99 per person. Reservations are being taken at the Senior Center Front Desk.
