Our first showing of TED Talks in September was very successful. Join us this month as we watch a short TED Talk and discuss it after. On Thursday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m., the topic is Gratitude and Wonder with photographer Louie Schwartzberg. Give yourself an hour to learn and share your thoughts about this topic.
The Line Dance Jamboree is always something to see. Line Dancers from the area come together to share their talent and learn new dances. Tickets are on sale now for $7 per person for the Thursday, October 20, 1 p.m. event and includes an afternoon of line dancing and a grinder. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
The Corvettes Doo Wop Revue returns to the Enfield Senior Center on Friday, October 28 at 6 p.m. Always a Senior Center favorite, The Corvettes play hits like Little Darlin’, Rock Around the Clock, and Shake, Rattle and Roll. Tickets are $7 per person and includes dessert and coffee at intermission. I expect that this show will be a sellout, but there are plenty of tickets available right now. It is probably a good idea to get your tickets soon so you will not be disappointed.
The Enfield Culture and Arts Commission is sponsoring an event at the Enfield Senior Center on Sunday, October 23 at 2 p.m. Acclaimed pianist Paul Bisaccia will play great Gershwin standards in celebration of the new Tony Award winning Broadway musical, An American in Paris as well as other favorites. Tickets for Paul Bisaccia: An American in Paris are available for $7 per person at the Recreation office, Senior Center, and at the door.
Enfield Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Jeffrey Schumann and Enfield Town Manager, Bryan Chodkowski will host a Listen and Learn Event on Wednesday, October 12 at the Enfield Senior Center. All older adults are invited for a free lunch at noon and the discussion will follow at 1 p.m. Lunch reservations can be made by calling 860-763-7428. What a wonderful opportunity to have your voice heard about the future of our schools and the Town of Enfield.
Once again, FullKrew is coming to the Senior Center for a rock’n’roll dance party. They are one of our favorite dance bands. When they have been here before the dance floor has been full all night long. Hold Friday, October 14 at 6 p.m. open on your calendar for the FullKrew Dance Party. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person and includes dessert.
