News Release for the Week of November 14, 2016

The Enfield Senior Center Craft Fair was a great success! Dedicated, hardworking volunteers working with Program Coordinator, Nancy Darrah, put together a wonderful display of creative talent. The proceeds from the event totaled $4,325.90 to benefit Senior Center programs. Looking back over the 26 Craft Fairs from November 2004 to November 2016, $88,669.84 has been raised. Thank you for your support this year and in the past.

Evergreen Health Care Center is offering free individualized balance screenings on Tuesday, November 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. Make an appointment by calling the Senior Center, if you like, or just stop in.

Join us for the Knightsmen Band in concert on Friday, November 18 at 6 p.m. The Knightsmen play popular tunes of the 50s and 60s and are very engaging. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person and includes dessert and coffee at the break.

What would you like to know about your computer, tablet or cell phone? Just stop in at 6 p.m. on Tuesday November 15 and Tuesday, November 22 for Questions and Answers with the Tech Expert. Our knowledgeable volunteer, Andrea, will be on hand to answer questions about Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, cell phones, iPads or just about anything technology related. Drop in!

Enfield Youth Services is visiting the Senior Center on Monday, November 14 at 4 p.m. with an important presentation on underage drinking. Talk. They Hear You, empowers parents and grandparents to start the dialogue on this important topic. Help support their important work by joining us.

If you have not been to the Enfield Senior Center, we are offering a tour and talk about what the Senior Center offers. Drop in on Tuesday, November 15 at 10 a.m. for Welcome to Enfield Senior Center and meet in the Senior Center Library. No need to register, just come!

Day Trips
Day trips are available for sale on or after the trip sign-up date.
• “A Hartford Christmas”, Wadsworth Atheneum’s Festival of Trees & the Governor’s Mansion, December 2, 2016. Cost: $94 per person.
• “Let’s Make a Little Christmas”, Phil Vassar at Fox Theatre and Foxwoods Casino, December 7, 2016. Cost: $90 per person.
• Beautiful – The Carole King Musical at the Bushnell, January 21, 2017. Cost: $149 per person. Trip sign-up date is November 18, 2016, 10 a.m.
• The Jersey Boys at the Bushnell, March 23, 2017. Cost: $99 per person. There is no sign-up date for this trip. Reservations are being taken at this time.

Multi-Day Adventures
Reservations are being accepted for multi-day adventures.
• The Wonders of Italy, April 25 – May 5, 2017. Cost $4899 pp/double.
• Holland, Michigan - Tulip Time, May 9 – 16, 2017. Cost $1695 pp/double.
• Alaska Land & Cruise, June 11 – 23, 2017. Call the Senior Center for availability and pricing.
• 4-Day Montreal & Quebec City, August 26-29, 2017. Cost $779 pp/double.
• Canadian Rockies, September 2 – 8, 2017. Cost $3259 pp/double.
• Iceland, October 19 - 25, 2017. Cost: $2999 pp/double.
