News Release for the Week
December 19, 2016
If you are a PRIME Fitness member, you know
that we have a new Fitness Assistant. Enfield resident, Alaina Watson,
completed her B.S. degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Dance from
Central Connecticut State University. She is a Certified Exercise Physiologist
and completed her internship at the Hospital for Special Care Fitness Center
doing Personal Training. Alaina has been designing programs and assisting
members with their exercises. We are very fortunate to have Alaina. Please
welcome her when you see her.
In addition to a new Fitness Assistant, we
have brand new beautiful strength training equipment in the PRIME Fitness Center.
This equipment was purchased with a bequest from long time member Don Taylor
for the Enfield Senior Center. The Friends of the Enfield Senior Center also
contributed funds to make this purchase possible. We will have a dedication at
a later date. Don Taylor’s generous contribution will enable older adults in
the Enfield community be healthier.
Sign up for a free Landscape Paint Party on Friday, January 6 at 11 a.m. Learn
how to create a beautiful landscape using acrylic paint. All supplies will be
provided by OBTA Care. Registration is required. Please call the Senior Center
office to sign up.
Nightshift
Band
is coming on Friday, January 20 at 6 p.m. to heat up our winter. Dance to 60s,
70s, and 80s popular danceable songs. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person. In
the event of inclement weather, the event will be postponed until Friday,
January 27. Dessert and coffee will be served at the break. Whether you are
dancing on the dance floor or in your chair, you are going to love this dynamic

because of inclement weather, the Senior Center programs are canceled. If there
is a school delay, our schedule goes on as usual. The building remains open, in
most cases, for drop-in activities including the Prime Fitness Center.
