The Usual
Suspects are back for an evening of dancing. This local band really rocks
the Senior Center and fills the dance floor. Pick up your tickets for their
Friday, March 24, 6 p.m. dance for $7 per person in the Senior Center office.
This is always a great night. Coffee and dessert are served at the break.
National Honor Society students will be
available for individual technology help on Tuesday, March 14 from 4 to 6 p.m.
If you would like to know how to use your smart phone, learn about Facebook or
any other technology question, drop in.
The Senior
Minor Home Repair Program begins on Tuesday, April 4. This volunteer run
program assists older Enfield residents with minor repairs such as fixing
railings, changing light bulbs, and pretty much anything that does not require
a licensed professional. Do you need some minor repairs? Call 860-253-6395 to
schedule an appointment. Residents are not charged for the service, only for
the supplies needed.
Enfield Culture & Arts Commission in
sponsoring Belly Dancing Lessons for
all ages on Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. Hips scarves, instruction and music
are provided. There is no fee for the class but registration, in the Senior
Center office, is required. What fun!
The Alzheimer’s
Association holds office hours at the Enfield Senior Center on the fourth
Thursday of every month. Make an appointment this month for Thursday, March 23
to talk with an Alzheimer’s Association representative to discuss any concerns,
address information and referral needs, or any help at all.
Learn how to create a beautiful painting
using acrylic paint at the Enfield Senior Center Paint Party. Blend colors and apply them to canvas while finding
out about background, middle ground, and foreground. OBTA Care is sponsoring
the Paint Party on Friday, March 31 at 11 a.m. There is a $5 supplies fee that
will hold your spot. Register in advance in the Senior Center office.
The Afternoon
Ballroom Dance with keyboardist, Richie Mitnick, is a special St. Patrick’s
Day dance on Friday, March 17 at 2 p.m. The cost is $3 per person at the door
and includes a snack and coffee at the break.
The Senior Center and Allied’s Attic are planning
a Fashion Show for Thursday, May 4 at 6 p.m. Allied’s Attic will provide the
clothes and accessories. We are looking for volunteer models who will put
together an outfit that is both thrifty and attractive. Both men and women
models are needed. It will be fun! Sign up in the Senior Center office.
