Our annual Spring Craft Fair, Basket Raffle, Bake Sale & Pancake Breakfast is coming up on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop in for the pancake breakfast, buy a plant at the Enfield Garden Club Plant Sale, pick up some home baked treats, and have fun choosing a raffle basket to bid on. Shop handcrafted items made by our volunteers. You may also want to take a chance on a beautiful quilt being raffled. This is always a fun event and one of our major fundraisers. Please support Senior Center programs by being a part of the day.

Allied’s Attic is providing the bargain-priced clothing modeled by our wonderful fashionistas for the Allied’s Attic Fashion Show on Thursday, May 4 at 6 p.m. Learn how to put an outfit together without breaking the bank. Admission is free with a non-perishable food item. We are still looking for male and female models of all ages and sizes. Please call the Senior Center if you would like to help.

We are fortunate to have a community volunteer, Rich Galvez, who will give direction and call Bingo numbers in Spanish on Monday, May 8 from 10 a.m. to noon. This would be great for those whose first language is Spanish or for those who would like to practice the language. Stay for lunch if you like. The event is free and there will be prizes. If Spanish Bingo is popular we will make it a regularly occurring event.

Osteoarthritis of the knee is caused by excess wear and tear on the knee joint as a result of aging or joint injury. Michael Ciriello, the Director of Development Services for the Town of Enfield will discuss how small changes can make it easier for older adults to remain in the community for as long as possible. Structuring community design to meet the needs of seniors creates benefits for the entire community. Join us for Aging in Place in Enfield on Wednesday, April 19 at 1 p.m. for this interesting discussion.

Our Gluten Free Support Group is sponsoring a free presentation by Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Jonathan Goodman on Wednesday, April 19 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. RSVP to ShopRite Dietician Michelle Mattia, the group facilitator at michelle.mattia@wakefern.com or 860-253-4173. Do you need help with some tasks or home repairs? Call 860-253-6395 to schedule an appointment with the Enfield Senior Minor Home Repair Program.
