News Release for the Week of July 24, 2017

Start your day at the Enfield Senior Center with a fresh cup of coffee and choice of English Muffin, white or wheat toast and top it off with butter, jelly, jam or peanut butter.  Mornings from 8:30 to 10 am.  Donation requested.

 

Enjoy the movie La La Land on Thursday, July 27. If you would like, purchase a ticket in advance for a Turkey Grinder for $5. Grinders are served at 5 p.m. and the movie begins at 6 p.m. The movie only is $2. Assistive hearing devices are available for the movie.

Ballroom Dance with Richie Mitnick is on Friday, July 28 at 2 p.m. Dance away the afternoon and have a snack at the break for $3 at the door.

Tickets are on sale now for $7 for the Truck Stop Troubadours concert on Friday, August 18 at 6 pm.  In a time when country music has become less country it’s good to know that there is a band like the Truck Stop Troubadours to keep the fire alive for the traditional sounds and themes of true country music.

Join us for a seminar, Healthy Eating – Keep in Simple on Wednesday July 26 at 1 pm, as Registered Dietitian Mary Margaret Horan shares some tips on healthy eating for the budget conscious sponsored by Fresh River Health Care.

Researchers believe that as we age, our immune system becomes less effective at fighting infections.  This results in older people contracting more infections, which can be severe and put us at risk of developing sepsis.  Join us as Nancy Hernandez, BSN, RN, Sepsis Program Coordinator at Saint Francis Hospital presents the Aging, Infection and Sepsis seminar on Wednesday August 2 at 1 pm to find out what symptoms should not be ignored.

Wellness Naturally, a seminar to be held on Wednesday, August 9 at 1 pm, with two local practitioners, to discuss the benefits of homeopathy and introduce new balance and flexibility techniques to relieve pain and stiffness. Both topics will help you learn about natural, and sometimes rapid, paths to wellness and active lifestyles.

Day trips are available for sale on or after the trip sign-up date.  

Bennington, VT, October 5, 2017. Cost: $84 per person.

National 911 Memorial Museum, November 5, 2017. Trip sign-up date is August 25, 2017 at 10 a.m.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular, November 30, 2017. Cost: $165 per person. 

 

Multi-Day Adventures

Reservations are being accepted for multi-day adventures.

3-Day Vermont, September 11-13, 2017. Cost $529 pp/double

Caribbean Cruise, January 28 – February 9, 2018. Cost $1649 pp/double.

Spain’s Classics, April 19 – 29, 2018. Cost $3,899 pp/double. Trip Presentation date is September 7, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Mediterranean Cruise, September 22 – October 5, 2018.  Cost $2999 pp/double.
