The Enfield Senior Repair Program is scheduled to end October 31 for the season. We ask that seniors who need air conditioners removed and/or gutter cleaning performed or other tasks we can help with, submit their requests by calling 860-253-6395 as soon as possible so we may get to all who need our service.
The 14th Annual Firefighter Picnic is scheduled for September 13 at noon. Bring along a folding chair and enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs made by our fabulous firefighters. Rock Solid Alibi will provide a great background for a wonderful day with music from the gazebo. Many thanks to the firefighters for doing this annually in honor of our older adults. Free tickets are available at the senior center front desk.

How to Avoid the Top IRA and 401K Legacy Planning Mistakes seminar will take place on Wednesday, September 20 at 1 p.m. presented by John Dee, President, Wealth Preservation Group. Join us for TED Talks the first and third Thursdays of the month. The next TED Talk will be held on September 21 at 10:30 a.m., Alexander Betts – Our Refugee System is Failing, Here’s How We Can Fix It. In this insightful talk, Alexander Betts offers four ways to change the way we treat refugees, so they can make an immediate contribution to their new homes.
Enjoy the movie Fences, on Thursday September 21. Denzel Washington directed and stars, alongside Viola Davis as his wife Rose, in this adaptation of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which centers on a garbage collector named Troy Maxson in 1950s Pittsburgh. Purchase a ticket in advance for $5 which includes movie and a grinder. The grinder will be served at 5 p.m. and the movie begins at 6 p.m. Movie only tickets can be purchased at the door for $2. Assistive hearing devices are available for the movie.
Trip sign up for the Thomaston Opera House “It’s a Wonderful Life” show on Sunday, December 3, 2017 will be on Friday, September 22 at 10 a.m. at the senior center dining room. This trip includes a delicious pre-show lunch at the Black Rock Tavern. Trip cost is $91 per person.
Our concerts are extremely popular and tickets sell out fast! Our September 15 concert is already sold out so don’t miss your chance to see Beatles For Sale on Friday, October 20 at 6 pm. An award winning, New England based Beatles tribute band that is committed to recreating the sounds of the Beatles live in concert. Tickets are $7 per person with coffee and dessert served at the break.

Thomaston Opera House – It’s A Wonderful Life, December 3, 2017. Cost $91 per person includes lunch at the Black Rock Tavern. Trip sign up date is September 22 at 10 a.m.
Stageloft Theatre – Winter Wonderettes, December 9, 2017. Cost $92 per person includes lunch at the Salem Cross Inn. Trip sign up date is September 29 at 10 a.m.
