News Release for the Week of December 25, 2017

Technology, Entertainment, Design - TED Talks are held on the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:30 am.  The group will watch a TED Talk and then have a discussion.  On January 4 “What Makes a Good Life? Lessons from the Longest Study on Happiness” will be the TED Talk.  What keeps us happy as we go through life?  If you think it’s fame and money you’re not alone – but, according to psychiatrist Robert Waldinger, you’re mistaken.  As the director of a 75 year old study on adult development Waldinger has unprecedented access to data on true happiness and satisfaction. In this talk he shares three important lessons learned from study as well as some practical, old-as-the-hills wisdom on how to build a fulfilling, long life.  No registration required.  Just stop in.

Join us for a 3-part series on Living with Alzheimer’s for Middle Stage Caregivers.  This informative seminar will take place on January 11, 18 and 25 from 6 to 7:30 pm.  In the middle stages of Alzheimer’s disease, those who were care partners now become hands-on caregivers.  Hear caregivers and professionals discuss helpful strategies to provide safe, effective and comfortable care in the middle stage of the disease.  Plan on attending all three sessions.  Please register at the front desk.
