News Release for the Week of January 8, 2018

Just a reminder to tune in to the following channels for inclement weather cancelations, delayed openings or early closings.  We will post the information on WFSB – Channel 3; WNBC – Channel 30; or Fox Local News – Channel 61.

Take me out to the ball game!  Only 20 tickets available for this trip to Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox play the Seattle Mariners.  Trip date is Sunday, June 24, 2018.  Trip cost is $142 per person.  Reservations currently being accepted at the senior center front desk.

We would like to thank Judy Langford and Barbara Deni for their many years as North Central Area Agency on Aging CHOICES program volunteers guiding patrons through the Medicare enrollment process and assisting people with questions and concerns.  We wish you both all the best!

TED Talks are held on the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:30 am.  The group will watch a TED Talk and then have a discussion.  On January 18 “What It’s Like to be a Woman in Hollywood” will be the TED Talk.  What we see in movies matters; it affects our hobbies, our career choices, our emotions and even our identities. Right now, we don’t see enough women on screen or behind the camera – but waiting for Hollywood to grow a conscience isn’t going to fix the problem, says Naomi McDougall Jones. Join forces with the actor and activist as she outlines her four-point plan for a total representation revolution in Hollywood.  No registration required.  Just stop in.
