News Release for the Week of March 19, 2018

 

 

There are still tickets available to dance the night way with the Dukes of Hazardville. This popular local band plays a wide variety of hits from the 60’s and 70’s. Listen to Roy Orbison, The Animals, Bobbie Darin and many more. Spend a fun night out with us for just $10, including dessert and coffee. Friday, March 23, 6 pm.

 

Do you care for someone with Parkinson’s Disease? Do you often feel tired, depressed and feel as though caretaking has literally “taken over” YOUR life? YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Parkinson’s Caregivers Support group is specifically for those caretakers who care for someone with Parkinson’s Disease (spouse, child, friend, etc.). This group will meet Wednesday, March 21, 304 pm. There is no registration required. Please feel free to call Jessica Russell, LMSW at 860.253.6403 for more information.

 

The Enfield Clean Energy Committee will be here on Wednesday, March 21 from 10 am to 12 pm.  They recently received a grant for a LED light bulb exchange program.  If you bring in one or two of your old incandescent light bulbs they will exchange it for a two pack of new energy efficient LED bulbs.  Stop by and take advantage of this energy savings program. 

 

There will be a discussion about the epidemic of prediabetes and diabetes in the United States. Do you have prediabetes or are you at risk for it?  We will discuss what prediabetes is and the health risks associated with it.    The good news is that research has shown that relatively simple lifestyle measures may prevent or delay the progression of prediabetes to diabetes.  We will discuss this research and the methods that have been shown to helpful. ·         NYC by Land & Sea, June 19, 2018.  Cost $97 per person.  Trip sign up date is April 6, 2018.

·         Red Sox Game at Fenway Park, June 24, 2018.  Cost $142 per person. Reservations currently being accepted.

·         All You Can Eat Lobster at the Delaney House, July 11, 2018.  Cost $100 per person.  Trip sign up date is May 4, 2018.

·         Webster Lake Riverboat Cruise, July 31, 2018.  Cost $96 per person.  Trip sign up date is May 11, 2018.

·         The Lighthouses of Boston Harbor, August 29, 2018.  Cost $113 per person.  Trip sign up date is June 15, 2018.
