News Release for the Week of July
16, 2018
There are still tickets available for the Truck Stop Troubadours show on Friday,
July 20, at 6 pm. In a time
when country music has become less country, it’s a good thing to know that
there is a band like The Truck Stop Troubadours around to keep the fire alive
for the traditional sounds and themes of true country & rockabilly music.
They play Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and more. Spend a fun night out for
just $10, including dessert and coffee. Tickets are $10 per person. Doors
open at 4 pm.
Join
us on Wednesday, Jul 18, at 1 pm for an old fashion Ice Cream Social on the Senior Center patio. Cool off with your favorite
flavor. Vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream and all the toppings. Presented by Care One at Redstone. Call 860-763-7425 to sign up. Bring a
chair and enjoy the lovely Rotary Park. The event will be in the dining room if
it rains.
We have a great group, The Enfield Wildcats, who get
together and play Wii Bowling every Thursday night from 5 – 8 pm. They have earned 1st place at the
Annual Invitational Bowling Tournament, held in Torrington, CT. If you are
looking for something fun to do this summer, consider stopping by and giving
Wii Bowling a try.
On Tuesday nights we offer Public Supper. No need to
cook in the hot summer months when you can stop in and enjoy a hamburger, hot
dog, grilled cheese, fries, onion rings or the weekly special. Doors open at
4pm. Supper starts at 4:30. If you like working in the kitchen and are looking
for a volunteer opportunity, we are currently looking for a few good volunteers
to help at the Public Supper. Call Nancy Darrah at 860-763-7426.
