[ARCHIVED] The Town of Enfield Engineering Office 2018 Updates

The Town of Enfield Engineering Office 2018 Updates

The Engineering Office safeguards the Town’s infrastructure and ensures that projects are built to the highest standards of construction.  Responsible for several Capital Improvement Projects, Engineering is currently involved in the design, permitting and construction contracts for the South River Street Bridge Temporary and Permanent Repairs, DPW Truck Wash and the Freshwater Pond Forebay Dredging at a construction value of $4 million.

Many residents are familiar with the ROADS 2015 referendum, and the large scope of work that has been done.  Much has been accomplished in the project, and there are currently nineteen (19) streets totaling 5.3 miles of road work under contract at a value of $12 million.  The Engineering Office has ten (10) streets equaling 2.5 miles of road work either out to bid or ready to start construction, at a value of $4 million.  They have also started design work for the 2019 road work projects, with ten (10) streets equating to 5.9 miles of road under contract for design at a construction value of $8 million.

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the Engineering Office has been performing plan reviews for the Department of Development Services, including thirteen (13) site plans from Planning and Zoning, sixty-eight (68) building permits from Building Inspection and issued 128 road opening permits so far in 2018.

Updates on all Engineering Office ROADS 2015 projects and Capital Improvement Projects are regularly posted on the Town’s web site:  http://www.enfield-ct.gov/371/Construction-Project-Updates.
