News Release for the Week of August 6, 2018

 

The First sign up day for September & October classes for Enfield residents will be Tuesday, August 7, starting at 8:30 am.  Registration for non-residents begins Tuesday, August 14 at 8:30 am. Please bring cash or a check payable to the Enfield Senior Center.

 

Beatles For Sale is a Beatles tribute band that is committed to recreating the sounds of the Beatles live in concert. You will see a fun and energetic performance. Listen to I Want to Hold Your Hand, Can’t Buy Me Love, Ticket to Ride, All You Need Is Love, and other iconic Beatle masterpieces. Friday, Aug 17, 6 pm.  Only $10 per person and enjoy coffee and dessert served at the break. Doors open at 4 pm.

 

Occupational Therapy Exercises on Tuesdays, Aug 7 – 28, 9 -10 am.  Join Bay Path University Occupational Therapy Instructor Nancy Clark and her students in this weekly program. August's program will be focused on keeping our minds and bodies strong through exercise such as boxing.  No equipment is needed, all are welcome, and exercises can be modified to meet individual needs. This is free program.

 

The Smartphone Workshop, is on August 14, from 10 am to noon. Do you have a smartphone? Do you need help understanding how to use it and the features? This workshop is designed around your I-phone, Samsung Galaxy, or LG Cricket. Free. No need to register.

 

Every Tuesday, at 10 am you can meet in the Senior Center Library for a tour of the senior center.  Learn all about classes, services and activities. No Registration is needed.

 

We offer several on-going programs during the week: Billiards, Mondays - Wednesdays, 8 am – 4 pm, Thursday, 8 – 5 pm, Fridays, 8 am – 1pm; Mahjong, Wednesdays, 12:30 – 4 pm; Scrabble, Tuesdays, 1 – 4 pm. No need to register.  All are free.

 

Newsletter Correction: Card Class dates in September are Friday, Sep 14 & 28.

Day trips are available for sale on or after the trip sign-up date. 

·         The Lighthouses of Boston Harbor, August 29, 2018.  Cost $113 per person. – SOLD OUT

·         Savor the Flavor, Providence, RI, September 19, 2018.  Cost $98 per person.  Trip sign up date is July 13, 2018. Only 1 seat left!

·         Goodspeed Opera, The Drowsy Chaperone, October 3, 2018. Cost $142 per person includes pre-show lunch.

·         Berkshire Railroad Foliage Express, October 14, 2018.  Cost $90 per person. 

·         Toast to the Armed Forces & Veterans, November 13, 2018.  Cost $88 per person.  Trip sign up date is September 7, 2018 at 10 a.m.

·         Radio City Christmas Spectacular, November 28, 2018.  Cost $174 per person.  Trip sign up dates is August 24, 2018 at 10 a.m.

·         La Salette Shrine Festival of Lights, December 4, 2018.  Cost $$86 per person. Trip sign up date is September 21, 2018 at 10 a.m.

·         Aqua Turf – White Christmas, December 10, 2018.  Cost $91 per person. Trip sign up date is September 28, 2018 at 10 a.m.

 

Multi-Day Adventures

Reservations are being accepted for multi-day adventures.

·         Nashville Music City, October 9 – 16, 2018.  Cost $1,763 pp/double – 2 seats left! 

·         British Landscapes, March 21 – 30, 2019.  Cost $2,999 pp/double for reservations made before September 21, 2018.  Trip Presentation is August 21, 2018 at 2 pm.

·         Bermuda, May 5 – 12, 2019.  Cost from $1,249 pp/double.  Trip Presentation is August 28, 2018 at 2 pm

·         Viking River Cruise, Rhine Getaway – October 9 – 17, 2019.  Cost from $2,999 pp/twin including taxes and shore tours.  Airfare priced separately.  Trip Presentation is August 28, 2018 at 2 pm
